You won’t enjoy the trip, you’ll project negativity to others that you meet along the way, and you’ll take that associated experience home with you forever, spoiling what would otherwise have been a fantastic memory of a vibrant foreign culture. Take as much time as you can, but try not to waste it on logistics. If something’s unpleasantly unavoidable, then it’s just “part of the experience!” When in doubt, just follow my motto: “If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space.”
